The Summary Of My First Semester At Minerva Schools

Hello Frieends!! How is it going? I hope you are good. If you are reading this then you got it. Yes I finally built a blog. As some of you might know, I have been thinking about this for so long and I finally got the courage to check this accomplishment from my 2019 to do list. This blog is going to be more of journal/diary cause who still needs real diaries when you work and take classes online (Minerva life lmao). So without further ado, let’s jump into what happened in the past few months.

First thing first I moved to live in San Francisco as I am attending Minerva Schools at KGI (Google it if you wanna know more about my extraordinary college that enables its students to live in 7 different cities around the world: San Francisco, South Korea, India, Brazil, Germany, and London). San Francisco is so beautiful. It has lots of beautiful places and mesmerizing sceneries. Astonishing beaches and plenty of parks. And who says San Francisco says the endless hills but overall I love it here.

Look at this mesmerising sunset I get on my way home after an exhausting day

Another highlight of the past months is Troye Sivan’s concert. Heeck yes. The least I can say is that the concert was breathtaking. The time legit flew by so quickly that I could barely notice it. I had so much fun. The new album is on fiiire. I was kinda planning to go and then I found a good friend of mine was a big fan and was going as well. So yeah, great concert and R’s company. Why not. But for real. I totally cannot get over that great concert and incredible lyrics. Troye see u soon. And R enjoy your life and see you soon if our paths would cross again. Moving on, two weeks after the concert we had our Thanksgiving feast. We had so much fun organizing it. I and some friends made a surprise swing dance for our peers and stuff. We began distributing pies on the tables and then as soon as the music started we started dancing. Thank you, dear A, for your effort and for being part of our community. It was a moment of joy and shared happiness with people I love. To many many years of glee and happiness with you guys.

OMG one blog post is not enough to summarise a whole semester but I’ll try to do my best. After a week from Thanksgiving, I had my birthday on November 27th. It was a normal Monday. I was co-working with my lovely K (cannot wait to slay the next semester together baby). She somehow managed to get me outside the res hall. There I found my dear classmates with two cakes singing for me. I realized that I live with people who care about each other and who will always support each other. Thank you guys and thanks to K for the surprise. I love you and I miss you a lot.

As the semester went by. A couple friends of mine organized a road trip to a beautiful beach which I forgot the name. We rent a car and drove through the high way to get as far away as we could from San Francisco cause the fast city life can be a bit suffocating and overwhelming sometimes. I had so much fun on the road trip. We danced and run on the beach trying to catch the waves. We sang as loud as we could on the car and we just tried to enjoy our lives without the assignments pressure. I am so thankful to have you guys in my small circle of friends. To plenty of other road trips all across the world.

I am currently back home in Tunisia. It is indeed joyful to be back here after being away for 4 months. Of course that I missed home but honestly 12 days here made me remember how badly I wanted to leave the country. It is true that we miss our families when we live abroad but unfortunately there is nothing that keeps me here despite the people. At the end of the day, to realize what we want we need to make sacrifices. Anyways, to finish this first blog post on a good note. I hope you all the best in the world.

As has been said before this is more of a personal diary. So it includes a lot of my chaotic thought, my perspective of things and some typos.

With Love,

Abdel.
